That looks like Paul Bunyan’s finger nail clippers. (If I remember correctly, there is one of these, about 2 feet long, in the Paul Bunyan museum in my home town, Bemidji.)
Yep, fingernail clippers – although not Paul Bunyan’s – just a close-up.
