Ok, the numbers are in from last year’s Skystream production. In summary, the Skystream produced an average of 387 kWh per month. This compares quite favorably to the average of the previous two years (336 kWh), and our household electric use dropped from an monthly average of 863 kWh in 2010 to 819 kWh in 2011. So, the Skystream produced 47% of our electric use in 2011.

In 2010, the Skystream produced 3,998 kWh, an average of 333 kWh per month. The farm and household used 10,284 kWh, an average of 863 kWh per month. The Skystream produced 38.9% of our energy.

In 2011, the Skystream produced 4643 kWh, an average of 387 kWh per month. The farm and household used 10,145 kWh, an average of 819 kWh per month. The Skystream produced 47.2% of our energy.
I would have a wind turbine up as there the cheapest most practical way to go domestic in the USA but I live in Tampa in an area mostly has a 0-1 wind rating at 40 feet most times. so solar is the way to go and when panel prices get cheaper we think about PV till then we gone LED lighting, HE washer dryer and the rest are all energy star appliances and we replaced all but one window with energy star high impact windows so our while our money energy is a bit higher now than when I bought my house 21 years so now it running about 75 to 160 a month compared to 90 to 140 a month back in 1989 for a 1200 square one story house with a 1000 foot guest house where my mother lives with an outdoor deep freeze and refrigerator and a 160 insulated and A/C cooled utility room keep at a max temp of 80 along with keeping the humidity down
