Taylor’s Maid-Rite, Marshalltown, IA.
I remember the big battle when I was a kid on whether or not to put ketchup bottles on the counter.
And the debates still rages on – if you go to the web site for Taylor’s, they have a page where you can vote
yes or no (http://www.maidrite.com/vote.php) for ketchup!
Several years ago, I offered to order Maid-Rites by mail for all my coworkers here in Tucson. They completely rebuffed my offer, saying they had never heard of a loose-meat sandwich and had no interest in trying one. I was crushed. Who could dislike a Taylor’s Maid-Rite?
I had the pleasure of eating there with Miss Gracious Acres 🙂
