We’re getting ready for the first soap-making episode of the season this upcoming weekend. Last year I made a couple different styles of soap molds and the one with the hinges to open up the mold after the soap has hardened was a runaway favorite with the soap alchemists. So, today, I made a couple more.
The bottom piece is a mold all ready to pour soap. The top shows a mold extended, as you would unfold it after the soap had hardened. The smaller pieces can slide wherever you’d like in the mold, depending on how much soap you have to pour. The small slit on the right side is where a soap cutter can slide in to cut the soap.
I really love this idea of a breakdownable box. I was just thinking of the multiple uses for this idea. Thanks for sharing!
Hi! Love the way you guys are living, I envy you!
The soapmold is exactly what I have been looking for. Did you use plans or instructions? If so, may I ask where you found them? Would love to put this on the hunny-dew-list.
I kind of made it up -I looked at molds for sale on the web to get the right measurements, then took my own spin on them. If you’d like, I could go out and leave the dimensions in another comment. The are easy to make and much less expensive than ones you can buy and work fantastic!
I would love to know how to make these. Any help would be much appreciated. These are the neatest soap molds I have ever seen. I wonder why other people haven’t thought of the hinges. You could sell these.
