January 5, 2012 – Turbines on the Horizon
The view to the south seems much more progressive now. The wind farm is now pretty much operational.

After living near these giants for a few months now, it’s rather intriguing to watch how the interplay of the seasons, quality of light, cloud cover and wind direction lead to different moods. Today’s mood was one of spring – a 65 degree day on my birthday – one to remember for sure.

I remember you have your own wind turbine and appreciate your close-to-the-earth lifestyle. It would be so easy to resent the intrusion on the skyline, so thanks for your openness about the wind farm and its potential to a produce more sustainable future for many people in Iowa.

This view lets me breath fresh air, drink clean water, and keeps the oil companies from owning my back yard free of regulation.
I watched the video “Gasland” last week. Their method of producing energy makes them sick, literally.
