November 7, 2008 – First Snow of the Season
This morning we awoke to the first dusting of snow.
Just a bit of contrast to the 76 degree day earlier in the week. As seasons go, not too bad. I remember back in the 90′s Minneapolis got two feet of snow on Halloween and it didn’t melt until spring. Now, that’s a long winter.

In November of 2000 I laid sod at my parents’ house expecting to have to water it until daytime temps were below freezing or snow covered it. The next day we got the first snowfall of the 2000-2001 winter and I didn’t see the sod again until March or April.
