Note to Gary

Gary,

When I was looking for inspiration for our wind turbine dedication, I ran across the following from St. Olaf College’s dedication of their campus wind turbines.  I thought it was a beautiful dedication and did a great job of integrating a Christian viewpoint of the creation and living God.  Perhaps you’ll find it worthwhile as well to ponder or adapt as you see fit for your dedication.

We’d be willing to try a bit of garlic to start out - we hardly ever jump hole hog into anything.  What do you figure for row yields 60-80 lbs per 100 foot double row?

September 2, 2005 - Sheila Arrives at the Farm

Linda’s college roommate and housemate of 10 years Sheila, drove down from Minneapolis for this weekend. It was quite a feat when I lived with Linda longer than Sheila. I’ve got a soft spot in my heart for her as Sheila “predicted” our marriage to Linda long before Linda thought of dating me!
Sheila has great stories. When she was working at the college radio station, folk singer Arlo Guthrie came in for an interview. Sheila did not know he was coming, nor did she know who he was. He carried a guitar and Sheila kind of smart-alecky asked if he knew how to play that thing. He took it out and starting playing Alice’s Restaurant.
Years later, she was in downtown Minneapolis, wondering what a crowd was doing at a bookstore. There was a moment of relative quiet, when Sheila realized it was Keith Richards of the Rollings Stones doing a book signing. Caught aback and speaking out loud what she was thinking (without thinking) she blurted out “Keith, you look like hell.” Richards responded “Thank you, love” and realizing what she had done, she walked quickly away.
